Our teaching philosophy is based on our passion for the sport and our desire to help our riders achieve their personal goals. Our students have the benefit of learning alongside riders who are competing at the top levels of the sport as well as observing the development of top performance horses.
Hillcrest Farm provides an environment which fosters learning, confidence, and relationship building in a family friendly, fun environment. Through horseback riding we teach skills and discipline that can also be applied to everyday life.
We offer full service boarding, riding lessons for all ages and levels, and opportunities to show both locally or nationally. We have show-quality horses and ponies available for lessons, lease and purchase. At Hillcrest we dedicate ourselves to help you achieve your goals and exceed your dreams.
Julie Cleveland Beam, Owner & Trainer
Julie Cleveland Beam began showing on the A circuit when she was eight years old. A successful stint as a pony rider led to the Junior hunters and equitation which inspired her to continue her career as a professional. She has shown in the Hunters on the National level, qualified and shown at Harrisburg, Washington, The National Horse Show and many others.
Julie’s career also includes many years showing in the jumper ring with young horses through Grand Prix veterans. Now she enjoys sharing her passion for riding, by teaching others the necessary horsemanship and riding skills to achieving their goals and win at all levels.
She likes to provide a training program that is customized for each horse and rider combination. Julie understands that each client has specific needs, goals and abilities. She has the skill and knowledge for what a horse needs and how to teach the rider how to get the best performance from their horse. Her goal is to see her riders and their horses succeed as a team.
Bekah has spent her whole life around and on horses. She had a highly successful junior and amateur career after being champion in numerous A and AA horse shows specifically with a horse she had brought along from the baby greens, Four Leaf Clover. His first year in the pre greens he was Zone 7 Champion and later in his career he qualified for Junior Hunter Finals and International Hunter Derby Finals. Bekah grew up in Southlake and graduated from Southlake Carroll.
Upon graduation, she attended the University of Alabama. Throughout her time in school, she worked at numerous farms, both in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and farms in the DFW Metroplex.
Upon moving back to Texas, she went back to full time work at Showtime Farms and ran their Riding School program. After having great success with the clients and horses at the farm and at local horse shows, she knew it was time for the next challenge. This is when Bekah joined Julie at Hillcrest Farm to continue her Professional career.
Bekah looks forward to working with any potential rider who has the same passion for horses as she does and bringing them along in their beginning stages of their riding career and beyond.
