Riding Academy

We recommend private individual lessons in the beginning until you are able to maneuver your horse and perform certain skills on your own and in a safe manner before introducing you to a group atmosphere with other riders. This allows you to understand and learn on a one-on-one basis with your trainer and provide a safe environment to allow for better concentration and learning experience. Once you have accomplished maneuvering your pony or horse safely we will move you to a group lesson with others that are at your level of experience and age. This is a good way for riders to learn to control their pony/horse when it is with other ponies/horse. We suggest taking at least two lessons a week to start. Riding multiple times a week will allow our students’ riding skills to flourish.

Showing

Hillcrest farm actively shows on the “A” circuit throughout the year. Should you decide you want to start competing, there are shows and classes available for every stage of rider. Showing is a great way to test your skills and also develop more confidence as a rider. The show environment is competitive yet friendly and always welcoming to new participants. You do not need your own horse to show, you can lease one of ours.
